X-Emergency Services were proud to deliver a career transition course to officers from Surrey Police and Sussex Police in May 2022.
We strongly believe that emergency service workers should be given the skills & knowledge for a successful transition, and we are delighted to work in partnership with both Police forces to achieve this.
During this event, delegates heard from invited special guests on the topic of transferable skills and found out what employers are really looking for when hiring from the emergency services community.
It was a great opportunity to grow networks & exchange stories and insights from fellow emergency services personnel, as well as learning which skills gained over years of service employers find most valuable. A key part of the programme was learning how to articulate these transferable skills to assist leavers in progressing into their next career move.
Richard Rowland, Director of X-Emergency Services, commented:
Feedback from attendees is vital, and we are always looking at ways to improve. It was also great to hear that we are hitting the mark with comments such as “It covered more than I was expecting.”
“It is always difficult to devise a programme, with something for everyone, but this delivered in spades” and “Found it incredibly useful and got a lot out of it.”
Kevin Coombes, Well Being lead for Surrey Police and Sussex Police, said,
“Surrey Police and Sussex Police are delighted with the results coming out of the Career Transition Course and our relationship with XES is growing from strength to strength. Colleagues have reported not knowing what to expect from a course like this and once attended they are most appreciative of the inputs received and that we, as an organisation, are funding it as that’s the right thing to do. Many thanks Richard to you and your team of subject matter experts, we look forward to the next course in due course!”
