Throughout October 2020, X-Emergency Services delivered a transition programme for officers of Wiltshire Police who were approaching the end of their police service preparing for transition into new careers, business ventures or full retirement.
This was a further pilot of our forces programme and it is important to highlight that delivery would not have been possible without the support of Gary Treherne, Branch Secretary of Wiltshire Police Federation. The programme drew upon the experience of business professionals, X-Emergency Services and Eight Wealth Management. The programme was also greatly enhanced by inputs from companies who support our work, most notably BT, Century Maritime, Datum RPO and QinetiQ.
Gary Treherne said,
“My experience of pre-retirement courses is that they are heavily focussed on finances and pensions but X-Emergency Services offered us a product that really delivered the assistance and sound advice officers want when considering their future, whether that is employment, self-employment, volunteering, or retirement. Initial feedback from the delegates has been excellent and working with the XES team and partners in both the planning and delivery was a pleasure. This is a relationship that I am keen to develop further and would have no hesitation in recommending X-Emergency Services to other Forces and Federations.
Gerry Kiernan from X-Emergency Services said,
‘’I congratulate the Federation and Wiltshire Police’s commitment to the welfare of officers at the point they are leaving the organisation and it was a privilege to receive such positive feedback from delegates. We at XES firmly believe officers deserve help and support to transition from the services at whatever stage they choose to leave, and a positive experience on leaving builds advocacy and a willingness to stay connected. We look forward to working with Wiltshire police in the future”.
